Hi, I’m Kayla Rain.
Storyteller. Dreamer. Serial creator of things that probably started with the words, "I have an idea..."
If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I've never been particularly good at sitting still.
Not because I can't relax. (Although my husband might have something to say about that.) It's because my brain is almost always dreaming up something new.
A project. An adventure. A business idea. A story.
I've spent much of my adult life following those little sparks of inspiration just to see where they might lead.
Some have turned into wonderful adventures. Others have taught me a thing or two. But I've never regretted being curious enough to find out.
And Narrifold? Well, Narrifold is my latest "What if...?"
A Life Less Ordinary
By day, I have a career in business management. It's a world of deadlines, details, problem-solving, and responsibility. And I genuinely enjoy it.
But there's another side of me that's always been drawn to creativity.
I've hosted an award-winning podcast, explored photography and storytelling, dreamed up more projects than I could possibly list, and even spent three and a half years living with my husband in a 160-square-foot tiny house.
Yes, you read that right. 160 square feet. Two adults. One tiny house.
And believe it or not, we loved it.
That experience taught me something I've carried into just about everything since: a meaningful life doesn't have to look anything like the one you're supposed to live.
Sometimes the best adventures begin when you decide to do things a little differently.
These days, my husband and I are building a life with more room for the things we love. Creating, gardening, cooking, exploring, and dreaming up whatever comes next.
And while I love the life we've built, I've also discovered that I need something that's entirely my own.
Something creative. Something meaningful. Something that begins as a tiny idea and slowly becomes real.
Which brings me to Narrifold.
So, Why Stories?
I've always loved the way a good story can transport you somewhere else.
How fictional characters can feel like old friends. How a single sentence can bring back a memory you haven't thought about in decades. How a story about someone else's life can somehow make you look at your own a little differently.
But I also love anticipation.
Remember when we had to wait an entire week for the next episode of our favorite television show?
We'd spend days wondering what would happen next. Imagining possibilities. Looking forward to the moment when the story would continue.
Somewhere in our wonderful world of instant everything, we've lost a little of that.
And I started wondering if I could bring it back.
What if a story unfolded over days instead of hours?
What if, instead of reading an entire book in a weekend, you received one small piece of a story each morning?
What if that story came with letters, photographs, old receipts, handwritten notes, and other little pieces of evidence that made its fictional world feel almost real?
What if opening the next chapter became something you genuinely looked forward to?
That was the beginning of Narrifold.
The Magic Is in the Unfolding
Narrifold is a home for stories told a little differently.
Instead of giving you the entire story at once, I invite you to experience it one day at a time.
A new chapter. A new discovery. Another little piece of the puzzle.
Some stories will be about love. Others might explore loss, family, friendship, secrets, or second chances.
Some will make you laugh. Some might make you cry. And some, I hope, will stay with you long after the final chapter.
My goal isn't simply to entertain you.
It's to give you a few moments each day to step away from the noise of everyday life and lose yourself in something wonderful.
A little anticipation. A little imagination. A little magic.
I'm Glad You're Here
Whether you've come looking for a little romance, a good mystery, a thoughtful gift, or simply something different to look forward to each day, I hope you find a story here that speaks to you.
More than anything, I hope Narrifold reminds you how wonderful it can be to slow down, get lost in a story, and enjoy not knowing exactly what tomorrow will bring.
After all, sometimes the best part of a story isn't knowing how it ends.
It's everything that happens along the way.
Welcome to Narrifold. I'm so glad you're here.
With love and a little imagination,
Kayla Rain
